Walt Knysz

Walt Knysz serves on the Board of Directors of Great Lakes Dental Partners, a Shore Capital portfolio company. He has long been involved in dentistry and dental management throughout his career. He was founder and CEO of Great Expressions Dental Centers (GEDC) for about twenty years, a dental practice management company that grew to over 150 affiliated dental offices in seven states.

Subsequently, he established UnifiedSmiles, a global dental practitioners network offering independent dentists the tools and resources generally only available to large group purchasing organizations, in November 2011. Finally, he founded MIDA Dental Plans (MIDA), which was one of the largest privately held providers of managed dental care based in the United States. He is currently licensed in the State of Michigan to practice dentistry.Dr. Knysz graduated from the University of Detroit with a doctorate in dental surgery in 1975.
