Dr. Tom Price most recently served as the 23rd Secretary of the Health and Human Services (HHS).
Prior to serving as the Secretary of HHS, Dr. Price served as the U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 6th Congressional District from northern suburban Atlanta. He held this office from 2005 to 2017 and served in various leadership roles during his tenure, including Chairman of the House Budget Committee, Chairman of the House Republic Policy Committee and Chairman of the Republican Study Committee. Prior to his time in public service, Dr. Price began a solo medical practice in Atlanta which he grew to one of the largest, non-academic orthopedic practices in the country and led as Chairman of the Board. During his 20+ year career as a practicing physician, Dr. Price also served as Medical Director of the Orthopedic Clinic at Grady Memorial Hospital, as well as an Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine.Dr. Price received his Bachelor and Doctor of Medicine degrees from the University of Michigan and he completed his General Surgery Internship and Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Emory University.
